We are now ready to move on to creating our second tsuboniwa, a tsukubai that will take place in a corner of the garden enjoying the morning sun and lying in the shade early in the afternoon. We spent the spring period to collect the raw materials needed for the creation of this new small garden in Green Ardeche.
All wood and bamboo needed to build our fence sugi itahei 杉板塀 type and our kakehi of typical Japanese design…
… a beautiful granite edge …
… large natural stones of the region, moss skated – which proves a bit dry for the moment given the heat wave – have been deliberately stored in a corner of the garden in the middle of tall grass to maintain some moisture …
… the necessary elements for the operating of basin, reservoir, pipe, pump …
… and a light-colored gravel to illuminate the whole …
For the plant side, a small soft green maple to contrast on the future dark color of the fence …
… as well as mosses and ferns of different varieties.
The creation will can begin !
